DESCRIPTION:This will be a circular walk from Thornton Steward reservoir\, along the pretty Wensleydale valley\, via Thornton Steward\, Danby Hall\, Ulshaw/Cover/Kilgram bridges – 8/9 miles. \nDirections to start point: Map OS Explorer 302 Grid 182877: \nEnter Middleham and leave on A6108 towards Jervaulx. One mile from Middleham turn left just before Cover Bridge\, cross a humpbacked bridge and immediate right to pass Ulshaw Church. Just over one mile further\, take the right fork which is Back Lane. This passes behind Thornton Steward in one mile\, then take the next left\, signposted Reservoir and Finghall. \nDepart Colvend 09.30 and Thornton Steward reservoir car park 10.30. \nPlease let the Walk Coordinator know if you would like to attend – details were sent out by email.

DESCRIPTION:A circular walk from Grimwith Reservoir\, via the cruck barn to just below Stump Cross Caverns\, Skyreholme and Parceval Hall\, Trollers Gill and Hell Hole (or bypass Trollers Gill)\, back to Grimwith.  There will be opportunity to go to\, or bypass\, Trollers Gill. The group will reconvene at the Hell Hole\, to return to Grimwith.  There are one or two muddy sections but no steep climbs.  APPROX. 7 MILES \nPlease bring a  packed lunch\, although the tearoom at Parceval Hall is expected to be open on the day. \nDEPART COLVEND 09.30 and GRIMWITH CAR PARK 10.00

SUMMARY:Field Society Walk - Aysgarth
DESCRIPTION:This will be a circular walk of 7.5 miles from Aysgarth Visitor Centre\, via Freeholders’ Wood (by Middle Falls)\, Hollins House\, Low Thoresby\, Castle Bolton\, Askrigg track to Ponderledge Scar\,\nCarperby and Aysgarth. \nThe route will involve good tracks\, pasture\, an ancient lane\, historic hamlet\, open moorland and limestone scars.  There are a couple of moderate inclines\, one short section of steep downhill\, two stiles and many gates. \nWe will depart Colvend car park\, Grassington\, at 09.15 and Aysgarth Visitor Centre at 10.15\, and we welcome any visitors.
