The River Wharfe monitoring station at Netherside Hall recorded its highest level of 4.1 metres on 2 Nov. This is nearly double the “minor flooding level” indicator of 2.2 mtrs and beats the previous record of 3.8 mtrs set earlier in the year. Click here for Environment Agency Flood Warning Service.

In Conistone the rain causes a 30cm (1ft) deep scar in the footpath coming down from the Dib and flattened the wall to Kilnsey eventhough the farmer had created specific gaps for water to pass through. In the early hours, the water came up to the Threshfield Kilnsey road, but thankfully the farmer had moved the sheep out of the field earlier in the evening. No mean feat to move 80 sheep without the use of sheep dogs as it was considered dangerous to the dogs tobe running in the dark with a rising water level.
