Twelve members set off in very welcome sunshine from Colvend Car park. We followed the river upstream as far as Ghaistrills Strid where we had our customary sip of Damson gin and some Stollen before returning to Grassington via Wood Lane. We then adjourned to The Gamekeepers for an enjoyable lunch.
The birds seen were the expected small woodland birds and Mallard, Moorhen and a Goosander on the river. A small flock of Winter Thrushes flew over but we couldn’t see which species.
A most enjoyable end to the year’s outings.
