Talk by Janis Heward, Northern Mines Research Society: The Hebden Gill Project
March 10 @ 19:30 - 21:00
Although the veins of lead in Hebden Gill had been known about for a long time they were not extensively mined until 1850’s when the Hebden Moor Mining Company began working in the area. Despite considerable investment of time and money the veins were only productive for about a decade. Today there are still many signs of the lead workings visible.
