ORNITHOLOGY
Our principal aims are to enjoy and learn more about the birds in our area by improving our recognition skills of both appearance and calls.

Most of the ornithology visits are to RSPB or YWT reserves and are usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month except in May and June when we make extra outings. We share cars whenever possible. Some members submit local sightings to our recorder who sends them on to Wharfedale Naturalists Society. New members would be welcome.

Group Visits
We meet at Colvend carpark to share transport at 8.30am bringing a picnic lunch, suitable footwear and waterproofs.
Members also record their own bird sightings annually and these should be passed to our recorder who passes them on to the YNU.
