ARCHAEOLOGY
There are a considerable number of archaeological sites in Upper Wharfedale and Archaeology is regularly represented the Society’s talks programme . In recent years we have had guest speakers from Bradford University and York Archaeological Trust as well as presentations on field work being carried out locally in Wharfedale, Nidderdale and Ingleborough.

As all our groups are volunteer led, they are only active when a volunteer is willing and able to lead. Currently, this group is quiescent while it awaits a suitable volunteer willing to coordinate its activities. If you would like to step in to this role, please contact the Society Secretary.
However, outside the Society’s talks programme, members with an interest in archaeology meet whenever we can persuade someone to put together a presentation on any topic related to archaeology.
