Interchange of Letters with the MP for Pudsey

regarding a proposed charge for use of the bridge at the Cavendish Pavilion. The letters bear the House of Commons Stamp.

Colonel C Banks MBE was Conservative MP for a newly created constituency of Pudsey where Les lived. The Colonel was elected with a majority of 64 in the 1950 election and a greater majority in 1955. He has a number of achievements but is mostly remembered for being involved in the Suez Crisis and Arab-Israeli relations.

This is the response from the Chatsworth Estate, owners of the Cavendish Pavilion.

The phrasing is interesting from a modern standpoint and reflects attitudes in society in post war Britain.
